Systems Architect

Your role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Systems Architect to our team of systems, software and test engineers that develop software based security, networking and communication products. The role involves taking responsibility for the technical work with our products and collaborating with other Systems Architects to guide a team of systems, software and test engineers in the development and delivery of products with high quality.

Your profile

To succeed in this role we see that you have a sound technical background, like to take on the role as a leader and have a great ability for systems thinking. As a person, you need to be independent, used to taking your own initiatives and responsibility. At the same time, it is also important that you are a team player who is responsive, contributes to the team and helps out where necessary.

For this role we believe the following personal skills are required:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering with solid experience in a relevant field
  • Solid technical background in software development and experience of working at system level
  • Experience from technical leadership in complex environments
  • Experience of working in exploratory environments and research and development projects where needs and requirements are not always clear

Any of the following technical skills is of significant merit:

  • Software Defined Networking
  • IP networking
  • Systems engineering
  • System test
  • Radar solutions
  • 5G
  • C2

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

Surveillance, a Business Area within Saab, is a world-leading supplier of systems for detection of threats and self-protection. Business Unit Radar Solutions is responsible for Radar in airborne-, surface- and naval systems. This position will be organized within our software development group for airborne radar systems. You will be a member of a team of software developers specilised within target tracking, signal processing, radar control and testing.

PU Communications is part of BU Combat Systems in Surveillance and is responsible for the design of robust solutions and infrastructure in network, radio and satellite communications. We design and implement systems in flying and land-based platforms. Our department consists of just over 90 people with operations in Arboga, Järfälla and Linköping. With us you will be part of a non-prestigious team with an inclusive culture that has broad expertise spanning many areas of technology.
