Job Purpose:
Responsibility for managing, producing and delivering Saab Seaeye’s Technical Training as well as leadership of the technical authoring and training team (the Product Information Team). To ensure all products have high quality technical manuals, and that customers receive a high standard of technical training; exceeding their expectations.
Job-Specific Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Manage, produce and deliver first class technical training on Saab Seaeye’s products
Design and develop the training offering for our products and third-party accessories
Improve the training offering through the use of digital and online training methods and technologies
Develop a full understanding of our underwater vehicle systems including our bespoke networked hardware and software architectures to provide excellent training and customer documentation
Develop a training capability using an ROV simulator
Deliver training at Saab Seaeye’s facilities, at customer facilities, offshore and remotely via digital methods
Communicate with customers to understand their training requirements
Work with internal contacts and customers to plan and organise training trips to customer sites, and training visits to the Saab Seaeye facility
Manage the Product Information Team
Produce technical manuals and training material using Madcap Flare, PowerPoint, videos and other digital media
Work with the Product Management Team to ensure that all products have suitable specification documents
Work with the Marketing and Product Management Teams to ensure product information on websites and brochures etc is consistent and correct
Assist and train new staff on Saab Seaeye products
Liaise with Projects and Sales Teams during the handover process to ensure all agreed customer specifications and configuration options are understood and will be included in the technical manuals and training
Assist the Customer Support Team with remote or off-site technical support if required
Support the Product Support Team with customer issues during and post-delivery
Ensure all documentation is produced in accordance with Saab Seaeye quality Standards
Regularly communicate with management, projects and production teams on Product Information Status
Work closely with the quality department to identify and reduce process failures that could be improved upon with better documentation and training
Work with the Engineering and Production Engineering Teams to improve product design and documentation in response to customer feedback
Achieve agreed targets and goals set by the Management Team
Monitor, evaluate and improve the Product Information Team processes and procedures

Experience Required:
Essential -
Hands-on experience of delivering first-class technical training on electronic-based products
Staff management and development
Production of technical training material and technical manuals
Production of digital media for training and manuals
Microsoft applications
Good project and client management
Desirable -
Experience of ROV systems or similar marine equipment
Use of single source authoring software such as Madcap Flare
Software and networking
Fault finding and maintenance
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
To ensure that the working area is a clean and safe environment in compliance with the 6S best practice and health and safety policies
To ensure any equipment used is safe, within electrical test date and all guards and interlocks are working and in place
To act safely and responsibly in line with company processes and Health and Safety procedures to ensure your safety and the safety of others
To report any potential Health and Safety hazards or violations to your Supervisor/Line Manager or directly to the QHSE Manager
To ensure any PPE or work wear required or provided for the job is worn and checked regularly for wear, and then reported when replacements are required
