Thesis: Requirements management enabling efficient parallel development paths of safety critical applications

Huskvarna, Sweden
Closing date: 29 November 2022

Description of thesis

Modern aviation industry has high demands for configuration management of software, additionally processes for verification and testing takes a long time. As of today, development and verification is somewhat limited/restricted for flight-critical systems by possibilities in current processes and tool set.

The goal of the thesis is to improve process and tool usage within an industry with high demands on safety and verification, where the balance between usability and requirements is in focus.

User experience as well as access to the environment will be available during the full period of the thesis

The proposed thesis is divided into four parts:

  • Collection of current status with focus on process and required output/deliverables
  • Summarize desired best case situation in terms of flexibility and at the same time generate required output during different life cycle phases
  • Proposal of changes  that provide ways to improve
  • Test implementation of proposed changes
