A true collaboration. A long-term partnership.
When Brazil decided to acquire the Gripen system, Saab entered into a close cooperation with the country. Through the extensive Transfer of Technology Programme (ToT) Brazil´s defense industry will benefit from the skills and knowledge acquired, further enabling extensive Gripen development and production work, including final assembly, in Brazil. Gripen will also increase the operational capacity of the Brazilian Air Force with a new multi-mission platform for the fulfilment of its actions to control, defend and integrate their national territory.
Together with Embraer, Akaer, AEL Sistemas, Atmos, DCTA and other companies benefiting from the programme, Saab will develop capabilities and generate knowledge for the development and maintenance of the most advanced multi-mission fighter in the world, in Brazil.
We at Saab believe that knowledge grows when it is shared among people, companies and nations.
The Brazilian Gripen
The Brazilian Gripen Programme began in 2013 when Saab successfully bid for the F-X2 Programme to replace the jet fighter fleet operated by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).
