Communications & Cyber Project Engineer

The role
The Communications & Cyber Project Engineer works collaboratively within a team of Project Engineers in the Warship Asset Management Agreement (WAMA) Alliance to progress Major Engineering Changes on Communication Systems and to manage the Cyberworthiness Program for Anzac Class warships operated by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), including associated shore facilities.

The team also acts as subject matter experts for cybersecurity accreditation activities across all Anzac Class Platform, Combat and Communication Systems.

Further, the successful candidate will:


•    Execute assigned Communication System related Engineering Changes
•    Developing, reviewing and progressing Engineering Change project documentation 
•    Actively participating in Systems Engineering design reviews 
•    Championing the achievement of configuration baselines at the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
•    Liaising with Alliance Industry Partners (AIP) to facilitate the delivery of Engineering Changes.
•    Reviewing project schedule and cost performance indicators and escalating identified anomalies.
•    Execute assigned Anzac Class Cyberworthiness Program activities

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.

About you
Your skills and experience will include:


•    Experience working with formal Engineering Change frameworks following a Systems Engineering approach
•    Experience with the engineering of Communication Systems. Experience with Communication Systems used within the Australian Defence Force (ADF) is highly desirable.
•    Demonstrated experience working within a project management context.
•    Experience with cybersecurity accreditation frameworks and standards
•    Experience with cybersecurity accreditation in an Operational Technology (OT) context
•    Familiarity with Physical Security (PHYSEC) and Emanation Security (EMSEC) accreditation frameworks, particularly as applied in naval contexts.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV2 clearance.
