Electrical Supervisor – JP2060 Support

The role

As part of our Land & Aerospace group, the Electrical Supervisor – JP2060 will be responsible to lead a team of Electricians to conduct testing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading a wide range of electrical and electro-mechanical Australian Defence Force (ADF) equipment at The Deployable Health Support Centre (DHCSC), Bundamba or at ADF sites around Australia. The role requires the successful candidate to be nominated and perform the duties as the Saab Qualified Technical Person under the Qld Electrical licensing regulation and will work a 9 day fortnight.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Qualified Technical Person
    • must be competent to perform electrical work,
    • must have held a Queensland electrical mechanic work licence for at least two years, and
    • must have completed the following units of competency:
      • UEEEL0002 - Apply currency of safe working practices and compliance verification of electrical installations. (This unit must have been completed within the last 3 years)
      • UEEEL0030 - Conduct compliance inspection of single-phase LV electrical installations
      • UEEEL0029 - Conduct compliance inspection of LV electrical installations with demand exceeding 100 A per phase.
    • Support the Safe Systems of Work development within the JP2060 Ph 3 Project
    • Working with the Head of Discipline support the Training and competence Frame work of Electricians in Saab Australia
  • Supervise the electrical team in the ongoing support, repairs, maintenance and upgrade of Deployable Health electro/mechanical equipment
  • Supervise the offsite activities and work at Defence units of the electrical team.
  • Supervise the test, acceptance and set to work of hardware at the Deployable Health Support Centre and Defence installations.
  • As the Supervisor take an active role in the hardware maintenance and support work carried out in the Saab Workshop and ADF sites.
  • Ensure adherence to approved work practices

Flexible work arrangements such as 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • 3 to 5 years industry experience as a Maintenance Electrician, supporting medium subsystems or group of smaller subsystems and/or equipment.
  • experience in the areas of planning, organisation and customer focus
  • Experience with workmanship inspection and adherence to stipulated standards.
  • Experience in circuits and wiring fault finding in industrial systems (cPCI, VME)
  • Experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems
  • Previous experience in field fault diagnosis and repair electrical equipment


As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
