Saab Recruitment Process
At Saab, we develop technology and solutions that help keep people and society safe. To achieve this, we rely on people with diverse experiences, perspectives and expertise. We want you to feel informed throughout the recruitment process.
The process and timeline may vary depending on the role, business area and number of applicants, but we always strive to keep you updated on your status and any upcoming steps. For certain types of recruitment, such as master thesis and summer jobs, response times may differ. The timelines stated in the job advertisement always apply to the specific position. The recruitment process may also vary depending on the country in which you apply, but it is typically based on the following steps.
Below, you can learn more about each stage and what to expect throughout the process.
When you find a role that interests you, you submit your application through our recruitment system. Once we have received your application, we conduct an overall assessment of how well your experience, skills and motivation match the requirements of the role and the needs of the business.
In some recruitment processes, we may conduct an initial screening call as part of the early assessment before deciding on the next steps. For many of our positions, we receive a large number of highly qualified applications. We are grateful for the strong interest in joining Saab, but this also means that candidates who meet all requirements may not always progress to the next stage.
Due to the high volume of applications, our ability to provide individual feedback to candidates who do not advance beyond the initial selection stage is limited. If you are not selected for an interview, you will always receive a written notification by email within two weeks after the application deadline. In some countries, you may also be invited to provide anonymous feedback about your candidate experience.
If you move forward in the process, you will be invited to an interview. This gives us the opportunity to learn more about you, your experience and how you could contribute to the team, the business and Saab’s continued development. It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of the role, the team and our organisation. Our goal is to explore together whether we are the right match for one another. Interviews may be conducted in person or digitally. Participants may include recruiters, hiring managers, technical specialists and/or team members.
For certain positions, we use assessments such as occupational personality tests, technical assessments or problem-solving tests. These assessments are normally conducted after the initial selection phase rather than as part of the application itself. The type of assessment used depends on the role, business area and location. If assessments are included in the process, we will inform you when they take place and how the results are used as part of the overall evaluation.
If you attend a formal interview with us, you will always receive verbal feedback from a member of the recruitment team.
Depending on the role, business area and local requirements, we may conduct additional checks such as reference checks, verification of information or other forms of candidate validation. If these steps are included, we will inform you during the process.
All our positions involve fulfilling certain security requirements. Security screening is conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, customer requirements and local regulations in the country where you apply.
Please note that the timeline for the security screening process may differ based on local regulations, legal requirements, and the country in which you apply.
Once all stages have been completed and we have identified the right match for both you and Saab, we will present you with an employment offer. If you accept, your journey with us then begins. Through onboarding and introduction activities, we provide the support and tools you need to get started in your new role and become part of Saab.
