Saab Singapore

A truly innovative partnership

Saab has been part of Singapore’s defence and civil security equation across five decades. Singapore, Sweden and Saab have a long-term relationship that is underpinned by the supply and support of strategic technology and true innovation.

Saab has been active in Singapore since the 1980s when the Singapore Armed Forces became an important early customer for air defence systems including the RBS 70 missile and Giraffe radar. This cooperation broadened and deepened from the 1990s onwards with the supply, support and sustainment of a range of front-line naval vessels and underwater combat systems. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore is one of the foremost users of our air traffic management solutions, which ensure safe and speedy commercial air transport for passengers and cargo.

Saab’s C-LEANSHIP subsidiary is based in Singapore delivering essential ship services such as hull cleaning using autonomous underwater vehicles in one of the world’s busiest shipping hubs. ST Engineering is an important partner for us on multiple current and future-facing national projects. We are also proud to have founded a joint technology research laboratory with the renowned Nanyang Technological University. We will continue to be a long-term partner for the Republic of Singapore with an emphasis on advanced technology, industrial partnership and technology transfer to maintain security-of-supply and national sovereignty.

Carl-Gustaf ODT
