Saab presents Air Traffic Management solutions at Airport Infra Expo in Brasília

1 min read

On March 24 and 25, Saab participated in Airport Infra Expo, an airport management industry event with workshops, business roundtables and a trade show. Held in Brasília (DF), Brazil, the conference was attended by the Minister of Civil Aviation Department, Eliseu Padilha; the President of National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), Marcelo Guaranys; and the President of Infraero, Gustavo do Vale, among other executives and authorities.

During a workshop about air traffic control, Sérgio Martins, Saab Latin America's Director of Air Traffic Management, presented the Aerobahn solution, which is based in the Airport-Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) concept. "Changing routes is not enough to reduce costs and increase efficiency of the aircrafts during flights," said Martins. "We need to organize airport surfaces to best optimize the aircraft's time on the ground. That's what Aerobahn solution enables." During the event, he also explained about the Remote Tower and its benefits, including to Brazilian regional airports.
