Bringing Critical Capability to U.S. Soil

Saab’s AT4CS TW (Confined Space Tandem Warhead), designated by the U.S. Army as XM919 IAM, is a multi-target disposable shoulder-launched munition designed to provide warfighters with increased lethality and survivability, and delivers a decisive advantage on the modern battlefield.

Once the Grayling facility is fully operational, Saab will be positioned to conduct U.S.-based production of the XM919 IAM, strengthening the American Defense Industrial Base and ensuring reliable domestic access to this critical capability.

A Shared Commitment to the Warfighter

COL Vince Morris, PM CCS at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, who was present for the visit in Grayling, highlighted the significance of the program and its broader impact on U.S. defense readiness: “This really is an exciting time for Shoulder Launched Munitions. We are providing lethal capabilities to the Warfighter and continuing to build the Defense Industrial Base by bringing manufacturing to the U.S. Our military deserves nothing less.”

Looking Ahead

The construction of Saab’s new manufacturing facility in Grayling, MI started in 2025. Progress at the Grayling facility continues to advance, with a grand opening celebration planned for fall 2026. Saab remains committed to expanding production of this critical weapon system to the United States, ensuring the nation's military has the systems and capabilities it needs, when it matters most.
