The role
As part of our Corporate group, the Commercial Manager will have a responsibility to provide a pro-active and timely commercial service to both internal and external customers. The incumbent is expected to be an active member of the Saab Commercial Team and contribute to the achievement of the role of the Commercial Group.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Undertake contractual management of projects (Defence or civil/construction) to maximise commercial outcomes and performance
- Identify and manage commercial risks
- Manage and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external customers
- Lead negotiations with customers, subcontractors and suppliers relating to contractual issues
- Provide commercial advice to defence or construction project and tender teams
- Prepare tender, contract documentation and statements of compliance
Flexible work arrangements such as 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant disciplines (e.g. Accounting, Law, Business or Commerce)
- Demonstrated experience in a contract management (or equivalent) role
- Working knowledge of contracting and procurement processes in civil/construction, engineering, project management or defence environment
- Demonstrated experience in contract preparation, negotiation, administration and management of contractual relationships
- Sound understanding of principles of contract law
- High level of interpersonal skills, including ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders and providing expert advice
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
