Join Saab as Deputy COO and drive growth and operational transformation, shaping processes and strategies that connect engineering, production, and business on a global scale.
Your role
In the role of Deputy COO, you will support the COO in leading and developing the company’s operations in a global context. The position combines strategic direction with close involvement in day-to-day operations.
A central part of the role is to drive and coordinate industrialisation initiatives that bring together engineering, production and supply chain. The focus is on ensuring manufacturability and “right first time” quality, with the aim of reducing lead times and increasing production capacity.
You will operate across a decentralised, international organisation, partnering closely with operations and group functions. The role focuses on driving alignment, clarifying priorities, and supporting the successful delivery of initiatives across the business.
You will also support the COO in carrying out various initiatives spanning the full scope of operations. The role therefore includes travel, both domestic and international.
You will report to Saab’s Chief Operating Officer.
Location: The preferred placement is Stockholm. There is also the possibility of being based in Linköping, Göteborg, Karlskoga or Lund.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with broad operational experience and a solid track record of working in complex, low-volume production environments.
You are comfortable moving between long-term direction and operational detail, and contribute by creating structure, communicating expectations and supporting teams in their delivery.
We believe you have:
- A degree in engineering, for example Industrial Engineering and Management, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in production environments, including design, industrialisation and manufacturing.
- Experience of senior operational roles with management responsibility.
- Experience working in technically complex, decentralised organisations in an international context.
- Experience of driving efficiency improvements, organisational development or transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience of KPI management across end-to-end, integrated operations.
- Professional fluency in Swedish and English.
We value not only your skills and experience but also place great importance on your personal qualities. To us, this means bringing a high level of leadership maturity, with the ability to communicate with clarity, foster collaboration across the organisation, demonstrate strong commercial judgement, apply a data-driven approach to problem solving and decision-making, and lead change with credibility and trust.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
