Saab and Business Area Aeronautics is experiencing rapid growth. With increasing global demand, expanding industrial commitments and major programs entering demanding phases, we are looking for a Head of Business Unit (BU) Aerospace Systems to lead a key business where execution, operational performance and deliveries are critical.
BU Aerospace Systems develops, industrialises, manufactures and supports complex aircraft structures with integrated systems for both civil and military aircraft. Working in strategic partnership with global OEMs such as Airbus and Boeing, the business unit contributes to advanced aerospace capabilities worldwide and is responsible for Saab’s partnership in the Boeing–Saab T-7A trainer program.
Your role
As Head of BU Aerospace Systems, you have full profit and loss responsibility and lead the BU Management Team. You set the strategic direction for the business unit and ensure strong execution in line with Aeronautics’ and Saab’s overall objectives.
Leading a large and highly competent organisation, your focus will be to secure operational performance, strengthen strategic partnerships and ensure delivery during a period of intensive industrial activity.
You combine strategic perspective with a strong focus on execution and translate direction into concrete actions and results.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the Business Unit and its Management Team.
- Driving strategy, performance and deliveries.
- Strengthening partnerships with key aerospace customers and industry partners.
- Ensuring competitive performance across development, industrialisation and manufacturing.
- Driving operational excellence, digitalisation and continued development of lean ways of working.
- Collaborating across Aeronautics, Saab and external partners to strengthen overall capability and performance.
- Developing leaders and teams to secure long-term capability and performance.
The organisation is a well-established organisation with several hundred employees. You will report directly to the Head of Business Area Aeronautics and be part of the Aeronautics Management Team, contributing to the overall direction and performance of the business area.
This position is based in Linköping and includes frequent travel, both domestic and international.

- Senior leadership experience with profit and loss responsibility.
- Strong business acumen and financial understanding.
- Experience from international industrial environments, preferably involving strategic customer partnerships.
- Proven ability to lead large organisations and develop leadership teams.
- Experience driving performance, change and operational improvement.
- Master’s degree in engineering, business or equivalent experience.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and Swedish, both spoken and written.
The position requires that you pass a security vetting in accordance with current regulations regarding security protection. For positions requiring security clearance, additional citizenship requirements may apply.
