We are seeking an experienced In-house Counsel to support Saab's expansion in Poland. In this role, you will be responsible for managing legal matters and providing strategic legal advice and support to the business, while working in collaboration with Saab Group Legal Affairs in Sweden. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management, commercial agreements, and legal risk assessment with a focus on the defence industry.

Location: Your place of work will be the company’s headquarters in Warsaw (city centre). This position is primarily office-based, so remote work is possible only in exceptional circumstances.

The position will require occasional travel within Poland and internationally to support business needs and projects.

Your role:

  • Support the company in tender procedures and contract negotiations;

  • Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial contracts;

  • Work on complex international projects and agreements;

  • Support the company´s growth by providing proactive legal advice;

  • Identify and assess legal risks associated with projects and international cooperation;

  • Monitor legal developments relevant to the defence industry and advise management accordingly;

  • Provide continuous legal oversight of contracts with customers, suppliers, service providers and business partners;

  • Ensure compliance with national and international regulations;

  • Enhance efficiency in internal administrative processes, including contract approval workflows, amendments, renewals and terminations;

  • Provide legal support to enable well-founded business decisions;

  • Act as a key liaison with Saab Group legal;

  • Implement and oversee compliance frameworks addressing anti-corruption regulations, ethical standards and internal corporate governance requirements;

  • Collaborate closely with various business units and functions, including commercial and business teams.

Your profile:

Must-have requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Law from a Polish University;

  • Qualification as an attorney-at-law;

  • At least 7 years of proven experience as an in-house counsel or in a similar role;

  • Knowledge of commercial and corporate law, including company law, public procurement law, civil law, competition law and intellectual property law sufficient to provide independent legal support in a fast-growing organization;

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills;

  • Fluent in English and Polish;

  • Strong drive, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred qualifications (considered as an advantage):

  • Experience in the defence industry;

  • A background in international environments;

  • Familiarity with complex international agreements and M&A transactions;

  • Experience with software and IP licensing.
