Saab, Inc. is seeking a driven and collaborative Lead Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to support various Saab, Inc. programs and the transfer of other similar technologies from Sweden to the United States.
Supplier Evaluation and Qualification:
Assess potential suppliers for their ability to meet our quality standards and requirements.
Conduct audits and inspections of supplier facilities to evaluate their quality systems and processes.
Collaborate with the procurement team to establish supplier quality agreements and requirements.
Incoming Material Inspection and Testing:
Develop and implement inspection plans and procedures for incoming materials and components.
Conduct thorough inspections and tests to ensure incoming materials meet specified quality criteria.
Document and report any non-conforming materials to suppliers and work with them to resolve quality issues.
Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions:
Investigate and determine the root cause of non-conforming products and quality issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and procurement, to develop and implement corrective actions.
Monitor the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
Supplier Performance Monitoring:
Establish metrics and performance indicators to monitor the quality performance of suppliers.
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and communicate feedback to suppliers.
Work with suppliers to develop and implement improvement plans when necessary.
Process Improvement and Optimization:
Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for process improvements related to supplier quality.
Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance overall product quality and reliability.
Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce defects and improve production efficiency.
Compensation Range: $108,000-$137,700
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Previous experience in supplier quality engineering or a similar role in an electro/mechanical assembly and explosives manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems, inspection techniques, and quality control methodologies.
Thorough understanding of industry standards and regulations related to electro/mechanical assemblies and explosives manufacturing.
Deep understanding of AS9102 requirements.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal teams, to include working with international partners.
Proficient in using quality tools and software for data analysis and reporting.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
