Your role

The Product System Security Engineer ensures the availability, integrity and confidentiality by taking stakeholder expectations in account, implementing security requirements and continuously considering evolving threats of a Giraffe xA system.

You will work closely with product management and engineering to support the integration of information assurance into the product and ongoing development activities.


In this role, you take an initiating and coordinating position, propose improvements, and support the implementation of security related capabilities and processes, with the following overall responsibilities:

  • Identify, analyse, and prioritise security related improvement areas within the product
  • Act as point of contact (POC) in bid preparation activities within the product unit
  • Act as point of contact (POC) for product related information assurance queries
  • Participate in general system work to identify, assess, and manage security related issues and risks
  • Initiate, coordinate, and support enhancements of security related capabilities
  • Collaborate with product management to ensure that security aspects are considered
  • Translate stakeholder and customer needs into concrete and actionable improvement proposals
  • Evaluate architecture and technical solutions from an information assurance perspective
  • Support risk management activities, including identification, analysis, and mitigation of vulnerabilities
  • Support engineering teams in implementing secure and compliant solutions
  • Follow up on verification, validation, and testing of security functionality
  • Contribute to maintaining relevant documentation, traceability, and assurance evidence
  • Suggest and drive improvements in processes, methods, and tools related to product security in collaboration with product management and other affected departments

Deliverables and Responsible Activities:
The role includes both analytical and coordinating responsibilities, as well as the delivery of documented assurance related results and improvement initiatives.
 

Key responsibilities and deliverables include:

  • Monitoring external developments, including emerging threats, regulatory changes, and evolving industry solutions relevant to the product domain
  • Performing product level information assurance analyses and supplying documented assessment results, recommendations, and assurance evidence
  • Identifying, analysing, and proposing security improvements related to architecture
  • Contributing to the establishment and continuous improvement of risk management frameworks, security processes, and follow-up mechanisms within the product area
  • Working across teams to identify and highlight needs related to capability gaps, security improvements, reuse opportunities and modularity
  • Supporting bid preparation activities by documenting assumptions, security considerations, identified risks, dependencies, and assurance related constraints
  • Following up on security related issues, risks, mitigation activities, and agreed actions to ensure implementation and progress tracking

Your profile


To fit, and thrive, in this role we see that you have good knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices. You also have understanding of product lifecycle management, preferably the Giraffe xA product portfolio. With your experience in secure development and/or system engineering, you collaborate well with internal stakeholders such as engineering and product management.

We also see that you have:

  • Experience in secure development and/or system engineering
  • Ability to translate stakeholder requirements concerning security into practical improvements
  • Experience in risk analysis and vulnerability management
  • Understanding of relevant standards and regulatory requirements
  • Good communication skills in both technical and non technical contexts

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
