Senior Contracts Administrator
Saab, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Senior Contracts Manager for its Safety and Efficiency, Aerospace, and Canada divisions. The Senior Contracts Administrator will be an experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures. Day-to-day activities will include proposal preparation, pre‐contract risk analysis, troubleshooting and resolving contractual issues, and administration of government, commercial and international contracts. The Senior Contracts Administrator should practice proactive contracts management, respond to inquiries regarding contract obligations/revisions, and initiate the documentation to authorize work according to contractual specifications. The individual must influence other business areas without direct authority and have experience working with US Government (Federal Acquisition Regulations contracts), commercial, and foreign customers.
Reviews complex domestic, international or commercial proposals for compliance with requirements of Request for Proposal, with particular focus on identification and mitigation/elimination of “proposal risk” and “execution risk”.
Drafts, modifies/revises language for terms and conditions in response to an RFP.
Works with expert knowledge of contracting concepts, Uniform Commercial Code, applicable public contract acquisition law and regulations (e.g. Federal Acquisition Regulations), and applicable international contract law.
Demonstrates proactive contracts management.
Demonstrates knowledge of corporate policies and procedures, coupled with ability to identify required improvement to established policies.
Coordinates and manages the contracts volume as part of a major or complex proposal.
Demonstrates ability to mentor less experienced contract professionals.
Determines appropriate flow down provisions for subcontracts and material procurement.
Skills and Experience:
BA/BS degree in a related field (MBA/JD desired)
Minimum 8 years of experience directly working in a Contracts role or related field (6+ if MBA/JD)
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
Minimum 6 years of experience with government regulations (i.e., FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, TINA, etc.)
Willingness to travel up to 25% in support of program and business development efforts. (some of that travel is International)
Excellent internal and external negotiation skills
Good presentation, leadership and team‐building skills.
Professional certification preferred (CCCM,CFCM,CPCM)
Experience working with US Government, commercial, and foreign customers
Experience working in Oracle, SharePoint, and JIRA
Must be capable of obtaining a Secret level security clearance.
