Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is looking for a Senior IT Support Professional to join our Information Communication Technology (ICT) Team.  This candidate should be an experienced professional with a strong understanding of ITIL practices, IT infrastructure, and customer service.  The ICT is responsible for all technology related systems including networking, servers, workstations, and helpdesk support.  Any candidate should be able to troubleshoot and resolves issues as well as provide input to process improvement efforts.  A Senior IT Support Professional is expected to influence other leaders and team members.   All ICT members are responsible for a customer service oriented approach to the facets of Information Technology in support of the organizations' end-point computing devices and peripherals.  This position may be located in Syracuse, NY, Washington D.C., or West Lafayette, IN

Mastered:

  • Ability to provide hardware, software, and network support to internal customers

  • Effectively use tools such as SCCM, WSUS, Dameware, SCSM, Orchestrator, Intune, and other similar tools

  • Effectively uses problem solving skills and analytical thinking to troubleshoot issues

  • Evaluates and applies department policies and procedures to effective execution

  • Strong understanding of Asset Management

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Ability and willingness to handle off-hours support, including on-call

Demonstrating:

  • Ability to quickly establish credible relationships with key stakeholders

  • Effective project management of moderate to large scale projects

  • Ability to work as a member of a team

  • Solid organizational, verbal and writing communication skills

  • Understanding of processes and procedures with capability to suggest improvements

  • Ability to configure and deploy endpoint computing devices on an enterprise scale

  • License management

  • Mentorship of levels 1 and 2 team members

  • Ability to work independently

  • Self-motivated

Developing:

  • Expert knowledge that extends across teams

  • Ability to direct and influence Internal teams for project/program/team success

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where solutions require evaluation of a variety of factors within the context of discipline processes/workflows

  • Independently selects methods and techniques for obtaining and implementing solutions

  • Contributes to the adoption of new design and development approaches to improve overall quality, reliability and speed of implementation

  • Interacts with internal or external customers on technical and programmatic issues

  • May lead small project team

Skills and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in an information technology or a computer science discipline or related discipline

  • 8+ years relevant experience

  • A+/Network+ Certification or equivalent

OR

  • MA/MS degree in an information technology or a computer science discipline or related discipline

  • 6+ years relevant experience

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
