Senior Subcontracts Administrator

Job Description:

Saab, Inc. has a career opportunity for a dynamic Subcontracts Administrator to be a part of the rapidly growing Saab, Inc. Supply Chain team.  As an SCA, you will be responsible for executing and managing high dollar procurements with critical subcontractors, in addition to negotiating contract agreements.  Experience in navigating and flowing FAR/DFARS contract requirements is required.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Interpreting and deciding subcontract requirements that are appropriate to ensure regulatory compliance and to mitigate risk

  • Assisting engineering functions in the creation of Statements of Work (SOW)

  • Managing subcontractors’ performance against their obligations outlined in their Statement Of Work (SOW)

  • Issuing RFI’s & RFQ’s and ensuring receipt of complete information

  • Conducting flow down analysis to ensure compliance to customer requirements (FAR/DFARS, FAA, International requirements)

  • Negotiating and managing supplier price, cost, schedule and technical performance

  • Executing Subcontracts, Inter-divisional Work Transfer Agreements, NDA’s, Leasing agreements, and Long-Term Agreements

  • Writing contracts letters and maintaining comprehensive legal records in compliance with USG Certified Purchasing System Requirements

  • Facilitating rhythm meetings and problem resolutions

  • Managing aspects of supplier performance, including holding Quarterly Business Reviews with critical suppliers

  • May assist with metrics, reporting, continuous Improvement, and other strategic Initiatives

Compensation Range: $75,800-$94,800

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience navigating and flowing FAR/DFARS contract requirements

  • BA/BS degree with 5+ years of experience

  • Professional certification or advanced degree preferred

  • Advanced purchasing experience- comprehensive understanding of fundamentals, building orders in an ERP system

  • Experience with contracting methods and contract types

  • Negotiating skills

  • Analytical thinking and problem solving- ability to apply sound judgement and creativity

  • Communication / Interpersonal Relationships

  • Financial Acumen- ability to determine cost reasonableness

Desired Skills:

  • USG, DoD, or FAA contracts experience

  • Cross-functional experience in Quality, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, Program Management.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Leadership and presentations skills
