We are expanding our radar software teams and are looking for engineers across experience levels, from early career to senior, who want to work with software in complex, high-performance radar systems.
Your role
Join the Fighter Radar organisation as a software developer and take on a key role in one of our growing software teams. You will contribute to the development of advanced radar application software, where performance, reliability, and correctness are critical.
As part of the team, you will work across the full software lifecycle, from early requirements to deployed and verified functionality, and have the opportunity to influence both product characteristics and how we work. You will work closely with system engineers and domain specialists, bridging system-level understanding with software implementation.
Your responsibilities include:
Breaking down and refining requirements together with system engineers and stakeholders
Designing and implementing robust and efficient software solutions
Integrating, testing, and verifying software in complex system-level environments
Collaborating closely with colleagues across Saab, including system design, integration & verification, quality, and product management
Contributing to and improving our software development practices and ways of working
Working in an agile setup with iterative development, planning, and continuous feedback
Contributing to technical decisions and product direction
Depending on your experience, you may also:
Take ownership of larger technical areas or features
Support and mentor other developers
Drive technical initiatives or improvements within the team
Your profile
We believe you are a curious and driven software developer with a strong interest in programming and complex systems. You take ownership of your work and enjoy collaborating with others to solve challenging technical problems.
You have:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Solid programming experience in C++ or a similar language, or strong motivation to develop in C++ in a system-oriented environment
Experience working in a Linux-based development environment
Understanding of modern software development practices, including version control and CI/CD
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
We consider it a merit if you have experience in one or more of the following areas:
High-performance or compute-intensive systems
Real-time systems
Signal processing, radar systems, or sensor-related technologies
System-level understanding of complex products, including interaction between software, hardware, and algorithms
Communication protocols
For more senior candidates, we also value:
Experience working with complex, large-scale software systems
Ability to take technical ownership and drive solutions
Experience mentoring or supporting other developers
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
