Scholarships

Saab Australia offers Engineering Scholarships which are designed to encourage and support those entering the engineering industry.

We currently offer three scholarship opportunities to help support students entering the engineering industry; Engineering Scholarship, Women in Engineering Scholarship and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship.

Engineering Scholarship Opportunities

As we look toward the future, we aim to support and partner with students to encourage them to grow and succeed with their university studies in order to kick-start their careers within the engineering industry.

Saab Australia's Engineering Scholarship is designed to encourage and support those entering the engineering industry within the fields of:

  • Electrical/Electronics
  • Computer Science
  • Software
  • Mechanical/Mechatronics
  • Aerospace

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Engineering Scholarship, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Currently studying your second year of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, specialising in Electrical/Electronics, Software, Mechanical/Mechatronics, Aerospace, or Computer Science.
  • Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at the time of application and subsequent years.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 4.0 throughout the scholarship program.
  • Hold Australian Citizenship to meet Defence industry security requirements.

Scholarship recipients receive financial assistance, a Saab mentor and pathways into our Internship and Graduate Program.

Women in Engineering Scholarship Opportunities

We are working in a variety of ways to increase the participation of female students in STEM subjects and ultimately pursue and have successful careers in the engineering industry.

Our Women in Engineering Scholarship is designed to encourage and empower women who are passionate about developing a career in advanced technology. We are looking to partner with women studying in the following fields:

  • Electrical/Electronics
  • Computer Science
  • Software
  • Mechanical/Mechatronics
  • Aerospace

We acknowledge the rich history of Australia's first people and highly value diversity and equal opportunity.

The purpose of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship is to support and encourage student's continuation and success with their university studies in the following fields:

  • Engineering
  • Electrical/Electronics
  • Computer Science
  • Software
  • Mechanical/Mechatronics
  • Aerospace
  • Business/Commerce
  • Human Resources
  • Finance
  • Information Technology 

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Currently studying your second year of a Bachelor's Degree in any of the following fields:
    Engineering: Electrical/Electronics, Software, Mechanical/Mechatronics, Aerospace, or Computer Science, or
    Business/Commerce, Human Resources, Finance, or Information Technology
  • Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at the time of application and subsequent years.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 4.0 throughout the scholarship program.
  • Hold Australian Citizenship to meet Defence industry security requirements.
  • Identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
