Mark’s appointment comes at a time of significant activity across Saab Australia’s naval combat systems portfolio, with the company performing the critical role as the sovereign Australian Combat Management System (AusCMS) provider for the RAN.

With almost five years’ experience at Saab Australia, more than 20 years in the defence industry, and a strong background in private‑sector engineering leadership, Mark is well regarded by Defence and Commonwealth stakeholders and has established a strong reputation for partnership and delivery.

Saab Australia Managing Director Andy Keough CSC said the appointment reinforces leadership continuity and capability at a time when maritime security is central to Australia’s defence priorities.

“Naval combat systems are a critical element of Australia’s maritime defence capability, and Saab plays a key role in delivering and sustaining that capability for the RAN,” said Mr Keough.

“Mark’s appointment provides leadership continuity and ensures we remain focused on delivering complex, sovereign combat systems capability to the RAN at a time of sustained operational demand.”

Over the past five years, Saab has delivered sustained growth, expanding its operations nationally while continuing to develop a highly skilled, sovereign combat systems engineering workforce.

The announcement follows Saab’s recent establishment of the Hobart Australian Interface Reference Site at Mawson Lakes, marking a key milestone in the delivery of the Australian Interface for the Hobart Class destroyer combat system.
