Saab Australia delivers life-saving deployable hospitals
Saab Australia (Saab) has reached a significant milestone, formally delivering Australia’s newest deployable military hospitals, Joint Program 2060 Phase 3 (JP2060-3) to the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
As the prime systems integrator for the ADF’s JP2060-3 Deployable Health Capability acquisition project, the Saab-led team, in partnership with world-class suppliers, has integrated and delivered thousands of complex components and systems to provide more than 550 deployable medical modules, providing life-saving capability, for use in humanitarian missions and conflict zones.
The rapidly deployable, modular and scalable healthcare capabilities enhance Australia’s preparedness and responsiveness, delivering a continuum of care from primary treatment through to surgery, advanced imaging, trauma care and intensive care.
Fundamental to its operational readiness is Saab’s purpose-built state-of-the-art Deployable Health Capability Support Centre (DHCSC) in Bundamba, Queensland. Fully integrated into the defence logistics system, the DHCSC is critical in supporting the deployment and ongoing sustainment of the capability, ensuring the appropriate and effective storage, maintenance and rapid deployment of the deployable health modules.
Under the delivery of JP2060-3, ADF personnel have been provided training to enable seamless integration and deployment of the best-in-class capability.
Saab Australia Managing Director Andy Keough CSC said that the program exemplifies the strong partnership between ADF and industry.
“The successful delivery of JP2060-3 has been achieved with close collaboration between our strategic partners and more than 100 local suppliers. Their critical contribution has been a fundamental input into the capability and has enabled this high-quality capability outcome,” said Mr Keough.
“The deployable health capability provided under JP2060-3 equips the ADF with an agile and modern solution that delivers high quality healthcare wherever it is required, supporting forces within Australia and overseas.”
As a prime systems integrator, Saab draws upon our extensive experience in systems integration, bringing together components from multiple suppliers into single systems that deliver outstanding health outcomes. Delivery of JP2060-3 is a prime example of this.
