Invictus Games 2018

Ten Saab Australia employees volunteered at the Invictus Games Sydney, helping out with floor management, entry control and even the complicated area of disability categorisation.

Made possible with Saab Australia's support, these employees also got the chance to see several events and be inspired by the athletes' drive to overcome enormous difficulties.

As a major sponsor of the games, Saab Australia hosted an information stand near the major stadium, meeting several teams and visitors throughout the week-long event.

Saab Australia Managing Director, Andy Keough presented medals at two events, and our Veteran Support officer, Kate Corner also had the honor of presenting one.

Many of our volunteers from our Adelaide office took their families to the Sydney games to attend events with them when they got time off from their busy schedules.

"The Games coverage was excellent and you could feel the strong positive vibe in the community from the awe inspiring efforts of the athletes. Watching men and women with often severe physical and emotional trauma pushing themselves to their limits to compete and finish events was both inspiring and sobering", said Saab Australia communication manager, David Ledger.

"All the competing athletes we spoke to were just so pleased to be at the games and were highly grateful for Saab's support of this fantastic event", he said.
