Saab’s Graduate Program runs over two years, with structured rotations ensuring you get a taste for every aspect of the business; ultimately, providing graduates with an all-encompassing, unique experience. These rotations are individually tailored to graduates current skills and developmental needs, individual’s preferences and business needs.

Each year Saab’s cohort of graduates grows larger. This year Saab accepted its largest intake to-date. This comes as a direct result from Saab’s own employee base growing rapidly, mirroring the growth of the Australian defence industry, due to increased funding for new capabilities such as Australia’s new Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessels, Hunter Class Frigates and the Attack Class Submarines.

Graduates at Saab are supported so they can reach their full potential by working collaboratively among experienced teams to develop cutting-edge technology solutions for both the Defence and Security industries.

Current Saab graduate, Alec Bignell, who had previously undertaken an internship with Saab in Järfälla, Sweden says “as someone with solid yet exclusive experience in web development, the Saab Graduate Program has provided me with the environment I need to diversify my experience and skillset with the guidance and support of my team.”

The Graduate program also provides opportunities such as working on programs interstate, becoming a mentor to school students through Saab’s support for STEM programs and an outlet to gain vital skills in our Professional Development Program. Each graduate is also paired with a mentor within the company to ensure that they always have support for personal and professional guidance.

“I’ve really enjoyed the in-depth knowledge I’ve gained by being a part of Saab’s Graduate Program. I’ve been working in a diverse team with a range of skills and learning the best from them. I’ve also had the opportunity to travel to see our products in action, further developing my engineering skills and expanding my network” – Megan Franzon, current Saab graduate.

No other single technology company is able to provide graduates with such exposure to the Defence and Security industries - Saab designs and builds submarines, combat systems, aircraft, underwater vehicles, missiles, torpedoes, radars, camouflage, security systems and much more.
