Saab's Digital Tower solution launched at Sønderborg Airport
Sønderborg Airport has taken a significant step forward by selecting Saab AB to provide its Digital Tower solution, becoming the first airport in Denmark to adopt this innovative technology. This project is a key part of the airport's transformation into a vital aviation hub for southern Denmark.
In February 2025, Sønderborg Airport selected Saab’s Digital Tower solution, including the TactiCall Voice Communication Solution (VCS), delivered by Saab Danmark A/S in Sønderborg. Acting as a local bridge to Saab AB, Saab Danmark provides the airport with direct access to global expertise and support when needed. By partnering with a local provider for system delivery and maintenance, Sønderborg Airport benefits from close collaboration and solutions tailored to regional requirements. TactiCall VCS enables seamless communication between air traffic controllers, ground operations, and pilots, managing multiple channels simultaneously to ensure all aspects of air traffic management are fully integrated and coordinated. This enhances safety, operational efficiency, and situational awareness, enabling controllers to manage complex traffic situations effectively. Saab’s Digital Tower is designed for both civil and military applications, allowing the technology to support a wide range of aviation environments.
