Saab develops and manufactures advanced defence systems to support countries fulfilling their mission and obligation to keep people and societies safe. As climate change is becoming an increasing security threat for people, nations and our future, it is vital to focus even more on integrating the climate targets into Saab’s strategic work.

“We are taking on the challenge of joining the journey towards climate neutrality. This needs to be done in a way that also allows nations to maintain the technology and solutions they need to guarantee security for their citizens,” says Saab’s President and CEO Micael Johansson.

The commitment to Race to Zero is one step in Saab’s work to tackle the broader sustainability, climate change and emission target challenges. As a part of this, Saab will find ways of adapting its entire operations, from premises to working methods and ultimately products and solutions to meet the future needs of a changing world.  Saab will measure progress backed by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) method, which is developed to provide a clearly-defined path to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Agreement.
