Saab to Deliver Carl-Gustaf M4 Indoor Trainers to Latvia
Saab has received an order from the Latvian Armed Forces for deliveries of the Carl-Gustaf® Ground Combat Indoor Trainer (GC IDT). Deliveries will take place in 2023.
The Latvian Armed Forces has been a user of the Carl-Gustaf system for more than two decades and placed the order for Carl-Gustaf M4 in May 2020.
“This order will bring a highly realistic and cost-efficient virtual training solution to Latvian Armed Forces. Saab offers the complete high-technological solution, from production of the Carl-Gustaf M4, to ammunition and a virtual training experience, which is as close as possible to using the real weapons in real scenarios,” says Åsa Thegström, head of Saab’s business unit Training and Simulation.
This order is placed within the framework agreement, which allows Latvia, together with Estonia and Sweden place orders for Carl-Gustaf M4, ammunition and associated training equipment.
Saab’s Ground Combat Indoor Trainer provides the user with replica weapons, a virtual environment and a sophisticated evaluation for realistic and accurate training.
