Saab has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with Abu Dhabi Ports regarding collaboration for the development of technologies for port surveillance and vessel traffic management. The agreement was signed at the international defence exhibition IDEX 2021 in Abu Dhabi.
Saab has signed multiple agreements with Tawazun Economic Council and Tawazun Technology and Innovation at the IDEX 2021 international defence exhibition in Abu Dhabi. The agreements will see Saab carrying out research and development in the UAE in the sensor systems area as well as participate in the Sustain and Enhance Emiratization in Defence and Security (SEEDS) programme.
Saab delivered the third GlobalEye aircraft to the United Arab Emirates on 20 February 2021.
Saab, a leading defence and security company in the UAE, is revealing its first UAE developed product at IDEX 2021. Saab’s inaugural UAE developed product is a Rugged Camera Module – Infrared, (RCAM-IR) which features an extremely rugged design for harsh and demanding environments. This is the first of many such products to be developed in the UAE and is part of Saab’s objective to support the country and regional manufacturers with advanced and reliable electronic solutions.
Saab has today received a follow on contract with the United Arab Emirates regarding the sale of two GlobalEye systems, Saab’s advanced airborne surveillance system. The order value is USD 1.018 billion and the contract period is 2020-2025.

Saab delivers the second GlobalEye Swing Role Surveillance System to the United Arab Emirates on 30 September 2020.
Saab has signed a support agreement with the United Arab Emirates regarding the advanced airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) solution GlobalEye. The agreement is valid between 2020 and 2022, with an order value of 144.9 MUSD.
Saab delivered the first GlobalEye Swing Role Surveillance System aircraft to the United Arab Emirates on 29 April 2020.
