Saab Training Systems receives contract award fo laser simulatiors

Saab Training Systems receives contract award for laser simulators from French Ministry of Defence Saab Training Systems AB Huskvarna, Sweden, has been awarded a contract from the French Delegation Générale de Armement (DGA) for the development and delivery of laser based gunnery and combat simulators for the AT4CS anti tank weapon. The order value is 45 million FF. The simulator, an adaptation of the Saab BT46 system sold to many customers over the world, will be used both for gunnery training in regiments and for combat training in the French National Training centre in Mailly. The simulator will be adapted to work with the existing French laser based simulators for tanks and infantry soldiers, but may also be used in joint combat exercises with other armies where the Saab BT46 system is used. Pre series deliveries will start within one year and final delivery of the systems will be made during 2001. This contract is a breakthrough into the French market for Saab's simulators. Saab Training Systems AB is, however, a long time supplier of portable range equipment that has been used in France since more than 20 years.
