BT46 Simulator for the German Anti-Tank Helikopter PAH-1 A1

BT46 Simulator for the German Anti-Tank Helicopter PAH-1 A1 Saab Training Systems in Huskvarna Sweden, the world's leading supplier of laser based simulators, has been awarded a contract from the German Federal Office of Defence Technology and Procurement (BWB) for the development of a simulator for the anti-tank helicopter PAH-1 A1 with the HOT missile system. The project plan is very tight, which means delivery of a prototype system for tests and qualification in April/May 2001. Series deliveries are planned for 2002-2003. This simulator will be another component of the German AGDUS training concept for which Saab Training Systems has supplied BT46 simulators for Leopard Main Battle Tanks, the Marder and Wiesel Armoured Personnel Carriers as well as the anti-tank weapons Milan and Panzerfaust 3. The AGDUS PAH-1 simulator is based on the standard Saab BT46 units adapted for both Gunnery and Combat Training. It will be primarily used in the German National Training Centre, GÜZ, located near Magdeburg in the eastern part of the country.
