Ericsson Saab Avionics receives 28 MUSD order for Gripen

Ericsson Saab Avionics receives 28 MUSD order for Gripen Ericsson Saab Avionics AB has received an order from Saab AB in Linköping for servoactuators for the flight control system of the Gripen fighter, batch 3 (totalling 64 aircraft). The order is valued at 28 Million US Dollars. With this order the company has received orders for servoactuators in all the 204 Swedish Air Force Gripens. Series delivery to Saab will start in 2002. The primary actuation system for the Gripen is one of the first fly-by- wire control systems that utilizes direct-drive servo-valves. The actuators control movement of all main control surfaces as commanded by the aircraft flight control computers. Ericsson Saab Avionics AB is owned jointly by Ericsson and Saab and is the principal supplier of electronic systems to the JAS 39 Gripen.
