Saab Bofors Dynamics AB has received an order from The Swedish Defence Material Administration for mobile Underwater Data Acquisition Systems Saab Bofors Dynamics AB has received an order for mobile Underwater Data Acquisition Systems (UDAS) which register ship signatures. Each system consists of a chain of submerged and independent sensors of type BMP 202, which simultaneously detect acoustic, magnetic, pressure and electric field signatures from passing ships. The signatures are transmitted via a fiber optic cable to a land-based storage and evaluation system that is mounted in a climate controlled container which has its own diesel power generator. The order includes equipment for measuring the position of the ship as it passes, as well as video cameras for monitoring the area being measured. Delivery will take place during year 2001.
