Saab Ericsson Space - Change of Command

Saab Ericsson Space, Sweden - Change of Command Ivan Öfverholm, President and CEO of Saab Ericsson Space in Göteborg, Sweden will leave as CEO April 1, 2000. After leading the Company for exactly 16 years he leaves as CEO to take the role of Adviser to the Board. He will remain as Chairman of Austrian Aerospace, Vienna and in other Boards. Saab Ericsson Space reported 1999 the best result so far after a continuous growth for 10 years. As his successor Mr Bengt Mörtberg has been appointed new President for Saab Ericsson Space AB. He has previously served as the General Manager for Saab Ericsson Space Mechanical Systems Division. Bengt Mörtberg holds a Master's degree of Engineering from the University of Technology in Linköping, Sweden. He has worked for Saab Ericsson Space at several occasions since 1975 and in various staff positions. Bengt Mörtberg has acquired a wide international experience from different appointments in leading positions within the Inmarsat in London and Princeton, NY, USA for more than 10 years. Bengt Mörtberg will continue the build-up work for a network of independent suppliers of space equipment. The ongoing reorganization of international space industry increases the demands on subsystem suppliers. Saab Ericsson Space structure with focus on products, customers and markets is well prepared to meet the international competition. The company develops and manufactures computers, antenna systems, microwave electronics and guidance and separation systems for launch vehicles and satellites, and is the world leader in several of its product areas. The headquarters is located in Göteborg, a Technical Division is at Saab in Linköping and there are subsidiaries in Austria and the USA. Of the company's 650 employees, more than half hold Master's or Doctor's degrees in technical fields. Saab Ericsson Space is jointly owned by Saab and Ericsson.
