Saab's acquisition of Celsius approved by the European Commission

Saab's acquisition of Celsius approved by the European Commission On 3 January 2000, Saab AB notified the European Commission of its proposed acquisition of Celsius AB. Today, 4 February 2000, after having reviewed the notification, the European Commission has decided not to launch a full probe into the transaction, which means that the European Commission now has approved Saab's acquisition of Celsius. As earlier stated, the acceptance period for Saab's offer to the shareholders in Celsius will remain open until 23 February 2000 and the estimated first date of payment is 3 March 2000. Saab's intention is to purchase all outstanding shares in Celsius as stated in its offer to the shareholders in Celsius that was announced on 16 November 1999. According to the offer, Saab is offering SEK 179 in cash for each A- or B-share in Celsius AB.
