Bengt Hörnsten, appointed President and CEO for Saab Nyge Aero The Board of Saab Nyge Aero has appointed Bengt Hörnsten President and CEO of the company with effect from 20 March 2001. He succeeds Björn Sundén who, after seven years with the company, will become Deputy Managing Director of EUROMaint, the Swedish State Railways' newly created technology company. Bengt Hörnsten is 57 years old and has a long background in aviation, having started his career as an aircraft engineer with the Swedish Air Force. Apart from his technical work in the Air Force, where he became Technical Manager of the F16 wing in Uppsala, he has flown most military aircraft up to the Viggen. At the beginning of the 80s, he embarked on a civilian career in technical project management with the Linjeflyg airline and also became Technical Manager. Bengt comes from the Defence Forces' Headquarters via FMV (the Defence Materiel Administration), where he worked on starting up the RML quality system of rules for military aviation. Saab Nyge Aero is Scandinavias leading aviation company providing maintenance, installation and sales of aircraft, helicopters and spareparts/accessories.
