Dan Jangblad to become manager of Business Development within Saab In recent years Saab has gradually stepped up its efforts to support the defence forces in its reorganisation into a network-based defence system (NCW). Full implementation of NCW requires integration of systems across the traditional dividing lines in the defence system, but also to adjoining civil operations. This also requires increased co-operation between the various operations within Saab. "Saab is in an excellent position to be a competitive supplier of integrated systems of this kind at high system levels and we are now making even greater efforts to make sure that we can meet the defence forces' needs and requirements," says Bengt Halse, President and CEO. Also in areas other than NCW, deals are being done in an "integrated" way with several of Saab's operations that are involved via the business area divisions. A more collected group perspective and closer collaboration between the various parts of Saab are required in order to deal with this situation. As of 01 09 2002 Saab is therefore creating a new group function, "Business Development", in order to develop business that involves the entire group, including the NCW work. Dan Jangblad, currently General Manager of the Saab Systems and Electronics business area, will be managing this function and he is therefore leaving his post as director of this business area.
