Saab Aircraft partners with Aviocomp for Component Repair Services

Saab Aircraft partners with Aviocomp for Component Repair Services Saab Aircraft has signed a long term agreement with Saab AB subsidiary Saab Aviocomp for repair and overhaul of its extensive Parts Exchange Program (PEP) spares pool. The agreement also includes provisions for joint marketing of Aviocomp's Repair and Overhaul Service (REPOS) as a complement to Saab Aircraft's already extensive product and services portfolio. With an expected turnover of over 7 million USD annually, the seven year agreement makes Aviocomp the preferred supplier for almost all Saab 340 components in the PEP program. An additional marketing agreement provides the possibility for Saab Aircraft to market Aviocomp's REPOS along side PEP to new and existing customers. Hans Almér, President of Saab Aircraft states, "The selection of Aviocomp as our preferred supplier for component repair is a step forward on several levels. We streamline and thus gain efficiency in our logistic chain, which is positive to our bottom line, while at the same time we provide increased flexibility for our customers to choose the logistic solution that best suits their operation and budget. We make use of existing synergies within the Saab Technologies Group and set the stage for possible cooperation in the future with the Saab 2000 as well as other potential aircraft types." Mr. Almér summarizes by saying,"The new agreement is a winning solution for all parties involved." Saab Aviocomp President Jan-Ingvar Johansson adds,"As now being a member of the Saab-family, I am very pleased to further develop our existing relationship through this agreement. We have now established a platform for a more efficient utilization of the existing civil aircraft capabilities within the Saab Group, which will be visible to the customers, as well as our owners. I am sure that our customers will find the new extended service concept very attractive. The combination of the experiences and competencies within Saab Aircraft and Saab Aviocomp will act to facilitate additional improvements and innovations within our common business area."
