AerotechTelub signs new contract with Elekta AerotechTelub and Elekta are continuing to strengthen their collaboration. The parties have entered into a new business agreement covering several years for the continued production of Leksell Gamma Knife by AerotechTelub. "The manufacture of complex, technically advanced products within the medical technology field is a good example of how expertise and resources from the defence and aviation operation can be applied elsewhere," says Carl Erik Johansson, Vice President AerotechTelub. AerotechTelub's collaboration with Elekta has progressed strongly in the past few years in line with Elekta's sales successes. AerotechTelub has been entrusted with manufacturing and participating in the development work for Leksell Gamma Knife. The agreement is worth approximately SEK 400 million, Leksell Gamma Knife is one of several products manufactured by AerotechTelub for Elekta. Elekta is a world-leading supplier of advanced and innovative clinical solutions and services for precise treatment of cancer, as well as minimally invasive neurosurgery for the treatment of brain disorders. Elekta provides clinically practical and cost-effective solutions, which are lenient for the patient. More than 200,000 patients have been treated using Leksell Gamma Knife, which is currently installed in some 175 neurosurgical centres around the world.
