Golden Air signs up for a third Saab 2000

Golden Air signs up for a third Saab 2000 Golden Air of Lidköping, Sweden has entered into an agreement with Saab aircraft Leasing to lease a third Saab 2000 aircraft for delivery in April 2003. The aircraft will be used to operate on behalf of start-up virtual airline Kullaflyg.com, linking one of the fastest growing business and leisure regions in southern Sweden with Stockholm's downtown airport of Bromma. Kullaflyg is based on the same successful format as Gotlandsflyg.se, which is operated by a Golden Air Saab 340. Golden Air Managing Director Anders Källsson said, 'The Saab is the most realistic aircraft for these routes in terms of its operating economics, speed and, importantly for this part of the world, its low environmental impact.' He added, 'Besides, passengers like the Saabs.' The airline also operates the Saab 2000 in close cooperation with Finnair, linking the Finnish capital of Helsinki with Stuttgart in southern Germany. A long time Saab operator, Golden Air has operated in its present form since August 1993 and is part of the Erik Thun AB Group, which has international operations in aviation, shipping and real estate.
