Saab Aircraft approved for maintenance training in Canada
Saab Aircraft approved for maintenance training in Canada Saab Aircraft AB has recently been awarded an "Approved Training Organization Certificate" and "Statement of Limitation" from Transport Canada (TC). The certificate from Canada's airworthiness authority, effective from the 1st of November 2002, allows Saab Aircraft to conduct Saab 340 and Saab 2000 Type Training including Engine Run qualification for students with a Canadian mechanic license. "With more Saab 340s entering service in Canada, training approval by Transport Canada is an important milestone in our ability to support this market. We are now able to provide Saab factory training to the technicians and mechanics supporting our aircraft with the various Saab operators," says John Belanger, Director, PR and Communications at Saab Aircraft. "Our customers benefit through the availability of a high quality training alternative; providing greater flexibility to meet their individual needs." Saab Aircraft's Customer Training Department has been providing factory technical training since 1993 with a wide range of different courses available. The five full time instructors have more than 80 years of combined experience in the areas of aircraft design, testing, production, maintenance and training. In addition to the transport Canada approval, the Saab 340 MT1 (4-week) Type Course is also approved by the Swedish Airworthiness Authority (LFV) and the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). The Saab 2000 MT1 (5-week) Type Course is approved by the Swedish Airworthiness Authority (LFV).
