Saab Training Systems' equipment selected by the British Army Saab Training Systems, Huskvarna, Sweden, has been awarded a contract worth over SEK 80 million, exclusive of options and support. The contract includes delivery of the BT46 laser based simulator for the Next Generation Light Anti-Armour Weapon Programme (NLAW) to the British Army. - This contract will further improve Saab Training Systems position as one of the main suppliers of training equipment for the British army, says Johan Ohlson, President, Saab Training Systems. The BT46 NLAW training system are a key training component in the NLAW Programme and will provide the realism required for the user when training firing and operating skills in a tactical environment. The equipment will be used with the Direct Fire Weapon Effect Simulator (DFWES) simulators, supplied and operated by Saab Training Systems, in the UK, Germany and Canada. Saab Bofors Dynamics, a sister company within the Saab Group, is the prime contractor for delivery of the complete NLAW system to the British Army.
