Per Erlandsson appointed Chief Executive Officer of Saab's operation in South Africa Saab is forming a company in South Africa as part of a process of strengthening its long-term presence and commitment in the country. Per Erlandsson, Head of Saab Corporate Legal Affairs since 1984 and Secretary of the Board of Directors, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the South African operation. He will take up his new post on August 1, 2004. Since selling the JAS 39 Gripen to the South African armed forces in 1999, Saab has developed an extensive long-term industrial cooperation with South Africa. The new company will work to develop new business opportunities, improve coordination of established operations and further strengthen Saab's presence in the country. Work to appoint a successor to Per Erlandsson in Sweden has begun. Legal Counsel Dag Rehme is until further notice responsible for Saab's ongoing legal affairs.
