Redundancy talks at Saab in Linköping complete
Redundancy talks at Saab in Linköping complete Negotiations between Saab AB and Metall - the Swedish Metalworkers' Union - are now complete. Of the 60 people given notice on 26 January this year, 39 employees will be leaving the company. Of these, 18 are being offered retirement pension. The main reason for the move is that Saab has made organizational and structural changes, which have led to a reduced requirement primarily for production and support functions. "It is always sad to have to reduce the workforce. We will of course be doing everything we can to support the people affected by the move," says Roger Lantz, Human Resources Director at Saab in Linköping. The job losses relate to blue-collar employees in the legal entity Saab AB in Linköping, which encompasses the business units Saab Aerosystems and Saab Aerostructures, as well as Saab Support in Linköping. Saab is one of the world's leading high-technology companies, with its main operations focusing on defence, aviation and space. The group covers a broad spectrum of competence and capabilities in systems integration.
