US Army purchases anti-armour weapon from Saab
US Army purchases anti-armour weapon from Saab The US Army has placed a first order for the AT4 CS anti-armour weapon with Saab Bofors Dynamics in Karlskoga. The order has been preceded by an extensive United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) qualification, which lasted throughout 2003. "This is an important first order for the AT4 CS from a particularly significant customer", says Tomas Samuelsson, President of Saab Bofors Dynamics. The AT4 CS is a further development of the AT4 that was already bought by the US Army in large numbers from the beginning of 1980s. The AT4 CS is specially developed for use in "Urban Warfare", that is combat in built up areas. The purchase is part of a Delivery Order Contract between Saab Bofors Dynamics and the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Saab is one of the world's leading high-technology companies, with its main operations focusing on defence, aviation and space. The group covers a broad spectrum of competence and capabilities in systems integration.
