Carpatair signs for a new 5 year support solution with Saab
Carpatair has signed a new 5 year spares agreement Saab Aerotech for spares support of their Saab 340 and Saab 2000 aircraft. The contract is valued at approximately 20 Million USD and will provide Carpatair with a flexible support solution to meet their needs.
The support solution provided to Carpatair covers a large number of rotable components installed in their fleet of 12 Saab 2000 and 2 Saab 340 aircraft. The agreement covering the Saab 2000 fleet is a five year extension in effect through 2011, while the Saab 340 contract extends through March 2008. Saab Aerotech’s parts exchange program allows customers to dramatically reduce their required rotable inventory thus reducing overall costs. Valeriu Harcovei, Vice President of Carpatair states, “We needed to secure the parts supply for our 12 turboprops for the coming 5 years and we are confident that the solution provided by Saab will benefit our maintenance operations by delivering reliable access to its pool of spare parts. Our common commitment is to make this program work better through its continuous development. This has to be done for our current aircraft, as well as for the next Saab 2000 to join our fleet.” “We are extremely pleased to continue our already successful relationship with Carpatair and we look forward to serving them in the years to come.” Comments Peter Erlingborn, General Manager, Sales and Marketing at Saab Aerotech’s Aircraft Services Division. During its seven years of operations, Carpatair has constantly expanded the number of destinations and flight frequencies offered to customers. In 2006, Carpatair became the largest SAAB 2000 aircraft operator in the world. The combined Carpatair fleet includes 12 SAAB 2000s, 2 SAAB 340s and 2 Fokker 100s.
