Saab acquires 18 % of Cold Cut Systems
Saab and Cold Cut Systems Svenska AB (CCS) have today extended their collaborative partnership to include Saab Ventures as part-owner.
“The background to this deal is that Saab is investing in the emerging public safety market and that these two companies offer products that complement each other. With the Swedish Rescue Services Agency developing and investing in a safer society, together they form a concept for future firefighting,” says Håkan Rosén at Saab Ventures.
Saab Ventures is a risk capital unit within the Saab Group that invests in small and medium-sized companies using innovative technologies relevant to current and future business transactions for the Saab Group.
“The fact that Saab is joining them as part-owner gives CCS a strong industrial partner who will be able to market the products of both companies on the global market. We see a growing need and demand for the type of system we can now offer together,” says Johan Pattyranie, CEO of CCS.
Cold Cut Systems Svenska AB, a fast growing profitable company with sales of ca 30 MSEK, develops, manufactures and markets products for extinguishing fires and rescue work. One of their products, COBRA, also known as the “cutting extinguisher”, gives fire fighters a brilliant and efficient new way of putting out fires. This method, which was developed in collaboration with the Swedish Rescue Services Agency and several Swedish rescue services, also helps to improve working environment safety for firefighting personnel.
Saab is one of the world’s leading high-technology companies, with its main operations focusing on defence, aviation, space and civil security. The group covers a broad spectrum of competence and capabilities in systems integration.
