Saab to provide total support solution for Swedish Coast Guard

Saab Aerotech has signed a support and maintenance contract with Field Aviation of Canada to provide a support solution for the Swedish Coast Guard’s (SCG) new Dash 8 aircraft. The first aircraft is expected to be delivered in early 2007. The contract is valued at 125 MSEK for Saab.

The new support contract is a turn key solution where Saab will provide full integrated logistic support, maintenance and engineering services for the aircraft platform, engines and mission systems. The first aircraft are expected to be delivered in early 2007. With options the support contract can extend through 2014. All support activities will be provided on-site at the SCG main base in Nyköping, Sweden where Saab Aerotech has currently provides support for the SCG fleet of 3 CASA 212 aircraft. During a transition period expected to run through 2007, Saab will assist the Swedish Coast Guard with maintenance and support service of both types. ”The new agreement with Fields in support of the Swedish Coast Guard is an excellent example of our ability to provide large scale availability concepts and other civil security related support solutions to our customers.
