Saab Welcomes ‘Defence Companies Anti-Corruption Index’
Defence and security company Saab welcomes Transparency International’s ‘Defence Companies Anti-Corruption Index’, which was published today. The Index, which rates defence companies’ systems and processes to prevent corruption, places Saab high with a score of 77.9 percent, earning the company grade B. The grades range A-F. Of the 129 companies on the Index, there are 16 companies ahead of Saab, 11 at the same grade and 101 behind.
A close look at Saab’s individual assessment reveals high scores in the categories of ‘risk management’ (100 percent) and ‘codes and policies’ (95.5 percent). In the categories of ‘personnel and helplines’ and ‘leadership, governance and organisation’, Saab scored 80 percent and 72.2 percent respectively. In ‘training’ the score was 30 percent. Concerning ‘training’ Saab has an effective training programme in place, however it is focused on personnel involved in markets and sales, rather than all employees.
Despite the overall high score, Saab recognises the ongoing need to continue developing and strengthening our anti-corruption work – always striving to get better.
