Datalinks allow different electronic systems to be securely connected in a network to deliver a common integrated air, surface and land picture, with weapons coordination if required. Linking multiple assets in a tactical data network supports interoperability, which gives the end-user increased situational awareness and enhanced mission effectiveness.

“Saab has delivered robust datalink solutions for more than 25 years and offers datalinks in a wide range of applications. This order further establishes us as a market leading datalink solutions provider,” says Micael Johansson, head of Saab’s business area Electronic Defence Systems.

Saab is a trusted supplier in the complex business of high frequency and microwave systems that underpin both radar and datalink applications. Saab’s range of datalink systems operate in the Very High Frequency (VHF) bands and beyond. Tailored solutions can be provided for both ground-based and airborne systems including integrated datalinks for radars and lightweight terminals.

The details of this contract are covered by a confidentiality agreement between Saab and the customer. No further information concerning this order will be released.
